Mark Alfred Weimer

Mark A Weimer "Pappy" loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to so many, passed away on October 16th, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mark was born in PA in 1957, grew up in Colorado and lived most of his youth in New Jersey. He moved to Florida in the late 1970's and worked in the marine industry becoming one of only a handful of Mercury Master Mechanics. Mark went on to meet and marry his wife of 40 years Lynn Harrington. Together they welcomed a daughter Nicole. Mark was an amazing entrepreneur. He started his own marine business and pursued his dream of racing offshore power boats for several years. Mark expanded his passion and went on to start yet another business where he built exotic custom Harley Davidson motorcycle's. Over the next few years Mark would travel to Long Beach Island, New Jersey for 6 months out of the year to work at an amusement park, Fantasy Island, as their lead technician. Concurrently, Mark opened yet another corporation in Florida, INXS Inc., Inc where he was extremely successful enabling him to provide and enjoy life in a more leisurely lifestyle. During these years Mark and his wife made several trips to the Alps of Europe to ride their motorcycle with great friends. Before leaving Florida Mark held a position at a Nuclear Power Plant in Hutchinson Island doing cyber security and their IT work. Mark and his family decided to leave Florida and moved to Michigan to be closer to family. Here in Michigan Mark was known to many as the guy who could fix anything. Not a day went by where his garage on Anchor Bay drive would not have someone dropping off a project for his consideration. Mark was a friend to all who met him giving 100% of himself to any friend, job or situation. He excelled at everything he did and it showed in any situation that arose. Mark spent 9 of his years in Florida as the Director of the Palm Beach Harley Davidson HOG club with a record amount of members in the club, over 900. To this day he is regarded as the most widely known and beloved director of this group which raised thousands of dollars every year for Hospice of Palm Beach and many other nonprofit organizations. Some of Marks other favorite hobbies were building and flying remote helicopters and planes. He also enjoyed slot car racing and all the technical know-how that went into not only competing but winning and held multiple first place titles at local tracks. Mark loved music and cherished some of the finest sound equipment made. Mark loved the finer things in life and was one who always would find the best of any product. He loved spending time with his family and he loved cooking. His favorite was Making Italian dishes that he had learned through the years or finding a new one and putting his special tweaks on it to make it his own. Everyone was always welcome at Marks table when dinner was being served. The dinner table with his wife, daughter and family was his favorite place. Not without great conversations stories and of course a joke or a prank. Sadly Mark was diagnosed with a very rare cancer in 2017. Mark has generously donated his cancer tumors to U of M for future clinical studies in the hopes that there will someday be a cure for Leiomyosarcoma. Although Michigan was not his original hometown, he stayed and lived out the remainder of his life in the Lake Saint Clair area alongside his wife to be near their daughter, his wife's immediate family and his beloved mini bull terriers. Mark made so many friends in the area and will leave a huge void for so many. A mass will be held at Holy Cross in Marine City 610 S Water St, Marine City, MI 48039 Friday October 21, 2022, at 11:30 A celebration of Life will be held next summer. In lei of flowers donations may be made to St Jude Children's Hospital
