Alan Roy Milner's Obituary
Alan Roy Milner, 91, of Algonac, passed away on Tuesday, 3/12/2024. He was born in Ferndale, MI on 3/19/1932, the son of Robert and Helen Milner. As a resident of Algonac, for over 54 years, Alan was also fondly known as Al, Ted, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa by his family and friends.
Alan was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and after an honorable discharge, worked in the manufacturing industry, where he then owned a successful business before retiring. He was a great fisherman in his prime, loved to collect coins and diligently followed the stock market daily. He will be deeply missed and remembered by many.
Alan was survived by his son, Randy (Karen) Milner, 2 brothers, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his wife, Laurette Milner, his son, Ronald Milner, his daughter, Joan DeRue, his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister. At Alan’s request, cremation arrangements were entrusted to Young-Gilbert Funeral Home. In lieu of a funeral, his request was for his family and friends to have a celebration of life to be held later this year.
