Bernard A. "Bernie" Ramales' Obituary
Bernard A. "Bernie" Ramales age 76 of Clay Twp., MI passed away October 2, 2022, in the McLaren Port Huron Hospital. He was born August 20, 1946, in Agoo, La Union, Philippines to the late Dominador and Rosa (nee Difuntorum) Ramales. He married Rosemarie Francis Wheatley on May 20, 1991, in Las Vegas, NV.
Bernie was a 1964 graduate of Anchor Bay High School. He was a U S Army Vietnam Veteran having served as an infantryman with the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment. He was awarded a Bronze Star for heroism and a Purple Heart for being wounded in combat. Bernie was employed in the circulation department of the Detroit News for over 20 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman on Harsens Island and the St. Clair River.
Mr. Ramales is survived by his wife Rosemarie, children Brien Ramales, Christopher (Meghan Pastoria) Ramales, and Shelby Ramales, siblings Ric (Ann) Ramales, Ron (Stephanie) Ramales, and Dave (Janice) Ramales. He was preceded in death by a daughter Frann Ramales Andrzejczyk.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, with a luncheon at 2:00 PM, Sunday October 9, 2022, at the Algonac Lions Club, 1905 Mill Street Algonac, MI 48001.
