Beverly Ann Witherspoon's Obituary
Beverly A. Witherspoon, age 83, of Algonac, passed away peacefully February 15, 2026 with her family by her side. She was born November 8, 1942 in Detroit to the late Earl and Peg Osgard.
She married Phillip Witherspoon on April 16, 1966 in Detroit.
She was a Sunday School teacher at Algonac Baptist Church for over 30 years. Bev also worked as a teacher’s aid for Algonac Public Schools for many years.
She took great joy in raising her sons and enjoying her grandchildren. She was a woman of strong faith and shared the love of God with those around her.
She is survived by her husband; Phillip Witherspoon, Sr., her sons; Mark (Cathy) Witherspoon, Michael (Yanita) Witherspoon, Phillip, Jr. (Katie) Witherspoon, and Kevin (Colette) Witherspoon, daughter in-law; Shelia Witherspoon, and many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother; Russell (Sharon) Osgard, sister in-law; Vicki Osgard and many, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son; Todd Witherspoon and brother; Earl “Butch” Osgard.
The Celebration of Life will be held at the Algonac Church of Christ, 1601 St. Clair River Dr., Algonac MI 48001, February 28, 2026, 10:00 a.m. visitation, with service at 11:00 a.m.
