Brett Raymond Young's Obituary
Brett Raymond Young age 68, of Harsens Island, MI passed away June 27, 2026 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born March 3, 1958 in Grosse Ponte, MI to the late Terry and Susan (Diebler) Young. He married Joanne Marie DeBene August 11, 1984.
Brett was most famous for his love of Kris Kristofferson, naming candy-based rappers, and (allegedly) being Batman. He was known for his totally true stories, his Brett giggles, and always having a Stroh's Light for a friend. He was and avid runner, completing two Detroit Marathons. Brett loved movies and old wood boats, but nothing ever came close to being Guga (grandpa) to his granddaughters.
Brett is survived by his wife Joanne, his children Kelleen (Chris) Lichliter, and Colin (Kaitlyn) Young, granddaughters Jillian Lichliter, Eleanor Lichliter, and Grace Young, brothers Wade Young and Corey (Pam) Young.
A memorial mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Young Gilbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Algonac, MI.
