Carl Frederick Stieler's Obituary
Carl Frederick Stieler age 93 of Marine City, MI and formerly of Algonac, MI passed away June 17, 2026 in his home. He was born February 28, 1933 in Detroit, MI to the late Louis W. and Wilma A. (Wienke) Stieler.
He married Evelyn Janette Fjerestad on September 18, 1953 in Detroit, MI.
Carl retired from General Motors Corp./Chevrolet Truck and Coach Division in 1988. He was a member of the St. Peters Lutherans Church, Ira Twp., MI. He was a life member and past president of the Algonac Lions Club, having joined the club in 1974. He was a longtime member and avid golfer of the Port Huron Elks Club, and an active member of the Algonac Clay Twp. Historical Society. He loved fishing for walleye on the St. Clair River.
Mr. Stieler is survived by his wife Evelyn, children Kathleen (Brian) Pelepchan, William (Diane) Stieler, Donald Stieler, and Carl “C.J” (Kimberly) Stieler, sister Sally (Hugh) Cuthbertson, 16 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son David C. Stieler.
Funeral services 11:00 AM Monday June 22, 2026 in the St. Peters Lutheran Church, Ira Twp., MI. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday in the Young Gilbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Algonac, MI. and Monday 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Clay Twp., MI.
