Catherine Louise Yax's Obituary
Catherine Louise Yax age 78, of Harsens Island, MI passed away October 7, 2022, in her home. She was born October 5, 1944, in East Detroit, MI to the late Samuel P. and Henrietta S. (Stewart) Kenny. She married Wayne Morris Yax May 4, 1963, in East Detroit, he passed away October 17, 2020.
Catherine retired from the Harsens Island Post Office in 2017 after 27 years of service.
Mrs. Yax is survived by her children Lisa (Ron) Sayers, Lani Yax, Leah (Tom Wall) Yax, and Lori (David) Cross, grandchildren Ryan (Chelsea) Sayers, Ian (Cait) Sayers, Samantha Sayers, Eric (Alexa) Heim, Austin Heim, Noah Heim, Julia Heim, Evan Cross, Emily Cross, Retta Wall, great grandchildren Camden Sayers, Carter Sayers, Lexi Sayers, and Apollo Heim, a sister Margaret "Peggy" (John Wines) Prather, and a sister-in-law Charlene Kenny. She was preceded in death by a brother Michael Kenny.
Funeral services 3:00 PM Monday October 17, 2022, in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac, MI. Visitation 1:00 PM until time of services Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the Family Wishes.
