Clinton Jackson Viger's Obituary
Clinton Jackson Viger passed away on September 14, 2025 at the age of 58 after many years of poor health. He was born at the River District Hospital on January 8, 1967 to Leon J. Viger Jr. and Thelma I Viger (Long). Clinton graduated from Algonac High School and lived in Algonac his whole life. Like many kids from Algonac, he loved swimming in our beautiful river. Clinton enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing, collectables of all types, tending to his garden and growing tomatoes, fixing, repairing and restoring many things but he was very proud for his achievement where he received a master angler award from the State of Michigan which he often reminded his older brothers of. He loved his pets, especially Duke, who he named after John Wayne (he liked his westerns). Clinton attended the police academy and worked at the Algonac and Clay Township Police Departments. While working with Algonac he received a commendation medal for his act of bravery while on duty. He also worked in the lumber and hardware industry for 30 years. Clinton is survived by his parents Leon J. Viger Jr. and Thelma I Viger (Long), his brother Leon J. Viger III, brother Noel F. Viger (Diane) and his sister Renee L. Darga. Nieces, Colleen Adams (Cory), Julie Gorniak (Joe), Jennifer Darga. Nephews, Daniel Viger and Ronald Darga.
Cremation arrangements with Young-Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. A memorial service will take place at a later date. To leave a message of comfort visit www.younggilbertfuneralhome.com
