David Edwin Doss Sr's Obituary
David E. Doss age 78 of Algonac, MI has gone home to his Father in Heaven, on July 25, 2024, after battling Aphasia since 2016. He was born October 12, 1945 in Detroit, MI. to the late Joseph and Ruth (Keeler) Doss. He married Barbara Jean DeMay on September 6, 1969 in Detroit, MI.
Mr. Doss was a 1963 graduate of Denby High School and went onto Olivet University. He retired from General Motors Corp as a journeyman truck repairman, after 31 years of service. He loved football, golf, restoring cars, and sailing. He was a member of the Port Huron Yacht Club for 27 years and sailed 9 Mackinaw Races. David was a kind and helpful neighbor and a friend to many.
David is survived by his wife of 54 years Barbara, children David (Kim) Doss Jr, Julie (Christopher) Becker, and Warren (Lee) Doss. He was proceeded in death by a brother Charles Doss.
Mr. Doss will be instate at 10:30 AM, with mass at 11:30 AM, Thursday August 1, 2024 in the Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherines Catholic Church, Algonac. Burial will be in the St. Catherines Cemetery, Algonac. Arrangements by the Young Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.
