David A. Ponke's Obituary
David Ponke, age 60, of Algonac, passed away November 27, 2024. David was born August 1, 1964 in Detroit to Leroy and Carol. David was a dispatcher for St. Clair County for 25 years. David also spent a number of years as an on call firefighter for Clay Township.
David is survived by his son Alex; (Andrea), his siblings; Steve (Dawn), Kelly (Jeff), and LeeRoy, and his nieces and nephew; Abby, Sara, Tegan, and Emily. David is predeceased by his parents Leroy and Carol Ponke.
David spent his childhood growing up on Ashland in Detroit. He was an altar boy St. John Berchmans and a boy scout growing up attaining the Life Scout rank. Dave was also a freelance reporter for numerous local newspapers.
David was an extremely hardworking, and caring man. He would go above and beyond for anyone, whenever they needed them. He always made sure that others were okay first before himself.
Memorial service will be Sunday December 1, 2024, at the VFW Hall in New Baltimore from 2-5pm. Eulogies will begin at 3:00.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the family or the Clay firefighters association.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Young Gilbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Algonac.
