Don Raines' Obituary
Don Raines, age 76, of Algonac, passed away January 4, 2024. He was born November 22, 1947 in Detroit to the late Frank and Blanche Raines.
On September 25, 1971, Don married Barbara Stamat. Don proudly served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He was a 35 year employee of Chrysler, retiring in 2007.
Don had a passion for classic cars. He loved going to car shows and was especially proud of his vintage 1972 Dodge Dart.
Don is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Raines; son and daughter in law, Donald and Ami Raines; daughter in law, Autumn Raines; grandchildren, Ciara Fields, Savana Raines, Chase Raines, Kayla Raines and Blake Raines; great grand-daughter, Brynlee Saikowski; niece, Karen Lombardo and nephew, James Godsey.
Don is preceded in death by his son, Mark Raines and sister Janice Godsey.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Young Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. Visiting hours are Monday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
