Donald Gene Eifert
Passed away on Thursday, October 24th, 2024. Don was born in St. Clair Michigan on January 4th 1940 to Alexander Eifert and Ruth Phyliss Stager Eifert. He attended Algonac High School where he met Mr. Potter - shop teacher and George Appleman – band teacher. Both of these men made tremendous impact on Don’s life. It’s where his love of music and woodworking began. He then used those skills to develop careers that he loved: As a musician for over 35 years and also as a craftsman then turned artist. He was recognized by “Fine Woodworking” in their “Fine Design Book 5” as well as awards and recognition from several art organizations.
He met his wife Sharon in May of 1964 and they married October 10th, 1964. They just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. He is survived by Sharon as well as a daughter, Dawn Marie Eifert Spearman, grandson, Donald Michael Eifert, granddaughter, Camille Ashley Spearman, brother Allen James Eifert. As well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandfather Peter Stager, brothers Michael Peter Eifert, and Glen Edward Eifert.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, with a eulogy from1:30 to 2:30 PM, Saturday April 26, 2025 in the Christians for A New Tomorrow Church, 4189 Keewahdin Road, Fort Gratiot, MI 48059..
