I just learned today of Don's passing. I went to Dondero HS with Don, and knew his brother John as well. We shared many 'teen-aged' good times together, often playing rock music in the basement of his family's home. Don played drums. I moved out west and only reconnected briefly with Don via facebook in 2017. I was happy to learn that Don had a large, loving family. We talked about how thankful we both were for our children, and privilege in life.
I miss him.
I'm so incredibly sorry to my family. Don was my grandpa and it's so hard for me. So, it must be much worse for the rest of my family. My dad, my aunts, my uncles, and my grandmother all mean the world to me, and I'm glad we have been able to get through this together.
So sorry to the family & friends for your loss. I met don in the late 60s in R.O. MI the family had moved just around the corner from me and across the street from grant school where we all attended.actually I met john first as he was my age don was my sister's age. even back then there was something special about them they became the most popular kid's in school.but over the years we all moved on from the neighborhood and went our separate ways. just a week or so before Dons passing he and I reconnected on our jr high school website and after that we friended each other on facebook. later in the week Don and I had a brief conversation in the morning by text catching up over the years before he went to work. he sent me pics of the kiss concert that he had just went to he was so excited & happy. rest in peace my friend.
I'm am so sorry for the family of Don. I had only known your Dad for a couple of weeks and just in that little bit of time I could see what a kind and loving man he was. He told me about all his children and how much he loved all of them. I wish I would of been able to know him better but I will cherish the little bit of time that I knew him. RIP Don.
Dear all of Don's family, I lived a block away from Don. I just recently reconnected with him and he was the great friend/like a brother. All I know is he loved his family and mentioned all and was proud and grateful. I hope everyone remembers him and eventhough now there is pain can celebrate his life to. God Bless
I was so sorry and sad to hear of Don??s passing. My late husband thought so much of him and considered him a dear friend. My deepest sympathies for your loss and I pray that God will ease your grief and pain and bring you comfort.
