Doris Ann Long's Obituary
Doris Ann Long age 95 of Algonac, MI. passed away November 27, 2020 in the Visions Adult Foster Care, St. Clair, MI. She was born September 20, 1925 in Northville, MI. to the late John R. and Anne S. (nee Walker) Slessor. She married Walter R. Long on December 11, 1943 in Detroit, MI. he passed away January 3, 2004.
Mrs. Long was a bus driver for the Algonac Community Schools for 37 -? years. She enjoy baking and distributing her little loaves of different flavored breads during the holiday season.
Mrs. Long is survived by her children Cathy (Frank) Mezo, David (Joyce Trese) Long, Sandi (John) Kierszykowski, Bill Long, Linda (Mike) Ahearn, Cheryl (Chris) Schroeder, and Barb (Glen) Champagne, 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Leslie Long in 1968. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers Jeannette Booth and Rosie Hart.
A family graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday December 2, 2020 in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac. (face covering and social distancing restrictions will be mandated.) A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when the COVID restrictions have been lifted. Arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. Memorial donations may be made to the Family Wishes.
