Edmund C. Kendall's Obituary
Edmund C. Kendall, age 83, of Algonac, MI, passed away on March 1, 2024. He was born September 30, 1940, in Detroit, MI, to the late Cass and Pearl (Rygiewicz) Kendall. He married Gloria Jean Ryniak on May 31, 1964, and was happily married for 59 years.
Ed was a 1958 St. Cyril High School graduate and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Detroit College of Business. He was a partner with Chalmers and Kendall, CPAs. Ed proudly served with the Air National Guard for seven years.
Family was a priority for Ed; he took joy in taking his family on vacations, Broadway musicals, and sporting events. He was an avid Michigan fan and season ticket holder, where he and his family enjoyed many tailgate parties. He enjoyed sitting on his dock, drinking a cold beer, and drowning many worms. He was a generous man who donated to many charities; his favorite was Paws With A Cause. He enjoyed a modest life where his grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He was a lifelong Catholic with a strong devotion to God.
Mr. Kendall will be dearly missed by his wife Gloria, children Steve (Shelly Seymour) Kendall, Linda (Thomas) McDonald, and Donna (Daniel) Gernand, grandchildren Amanda McDonald, Tommy McDonald, Chris Demorest, Joey Kendall, Julie Demorest, Eddie Kendall, Katie McDonald, and Mallory Gernand, great-grandson Vincent Piper, sisters Gladys (the late Carl) Frania and Claire (Jerry) Machala. He was preceded in death by his niece, Kimberly Frania.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Our Lady on the River Parish, St. Catherine Catholic Church, Algonac. Visiting will be from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at church prior to mass. Arrangements by the Young Gilbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Algonac, MI.
