Forest "Lee" Chaney's Obituary
Forest “Lee” Chaney age 86 of Algonac, MI passed away July 3, 2026 in the McLaren Macomb Hospital. He was born September 20, 1939 in Detroit, MI to the late George F. and Florence M. (nee Cornfoot) Chaney. He married Fern Ethel Bourget on October 19, 1963 in Algonac. She passed away October 22, 2023.
Lee was a 1957 graduate of Algonac High School. He served with the U. S. Airforce from 1957 to 1962. He retired from GM Corp as an electrician in 2004. Lee was a long-time member of the Algonac/Clay Twp Historical Society.
Mr. Chaney is survived by his children Kim (Rob) Pruneda and Phil (Cathy) Chaney, grandchildren Nick Chaney and Maddison Chaney, great granddaughter Berkeley, nieces Debbie Stager and Sharon Laparl, and a nephew Joe May. He was preceded in death by a sister Pearl Gaye Stager.
Military honors 3:00 PM, with funeral service immediately following, visitation from 12:00 pm until time of services, Monday July 13, 2026 in the Young Gilbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Algonac.
