George Joseph Thorp age 97 of Fraser, MI. died September 2, 2019 in his home. He was born November 12, 1921 in Louisville, KY. to the late George and Myrtle (nee Mercer) Thorp. He married Rose Mary Cricelli on November 14, 1950 in Detroit, MI. she died December 28, 2018.
George was a U. S. Army WWII veteran.
Mr. Thorp is survived by his son John D. (Sally Fagan) Thorp, a daughter-in-law Nancy Thorp, ex daughter-in-law Margaret Thorp, grandchildren Melissa (Keith) Chambers, Amy (Jason) Hansen, Anthony Thorp, Daniel (Shelby) Thorp, Nicholas Thorp, and Jamie Thorp, grandchildren children Leah, Benjamin, Nicholas, Peyton, and Avery. He was preceded in death by son George Thorp and Barry Thorp.
Military Honors will be rendered at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. at a later date. Arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac, MI.
