H. James Smith's Obituary
H. James Smith age 87 of Algonac, MI. passed away October 28, 2022, in his home. He was born August 6, 1935, in Algonac to the late Orton and Lauretta (nee Quibell) Smith. He married Ada Lou Studley on July 7, 1962, in Algonac.
Jim serviced with the US Army during the Korean War and while in the service played with the US Army Band. He retired from the Algonac Post Office in 1992 after 40 years of service.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Ada, children Michele "Mickey" Smith and Michael Smith, grandchildren Amy (Nick LeRoy) Witting, Mandy Griffin, Joseph Smith, and Andrew Smith, great grandchildren Jesse Placencia, Destiney (Cody) Gamble, and Hunter (Aubrey Zabik) Placencia, and great great grandson Christopher Placencia. He was preceded in death by a son William Smith and a sister Nancy Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.
