James Alfred Newman's Obituary
James Alfred Newman age 82 of Algonac, MI. passed away December 24, 2020 in his home. He was born September 27, 1938 in Dandridge, TN., to the late Jake and Myrtle (Bachlor) Newman. After 6 months of age his family moved to Belle Glade, FL. where he grew up. He married Joyce A. Howard on December 12, 1959 in New Haven, MI. she passed away August 13, 2012.
Jim was a US Navy Veteran having served on the USS Kleinsmith APZ-134 he was discharged in 1959. He retired from PTM Corporation Fair Haven, MI. in 2005. He as an avid woodcarver. He enjoyed playing music especially with his bluegrass gospel band "The Parking Lot Pickers"?.
Mr. Newman is survived by is daughters Jody (Jay) Korneffel and Jennifer (Chris) LaLonde, sisters Margaret Davis and Linda (John) Blackwell, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son James Allan Newman, and brothers Charles Newman and Bobby Newman.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac, MI.
