Jay C. Kenney's Obituary
Jay C. Kenney age 85, of Algonac, MI., passed away unexpectedly at home on August 31, 2013. He was born October 24, 1927 in Detroit, MI. to the late George and Marie (nee Klann) Kenney. He married Jere Lou Morris on December 1, 1951 in Williamston, MI., she passed away September 30, 2012.
Jay attended Albion College and graduated from Michigan State University. He was an American History Techer for the Anchor Bay High School for many years. He also owned and operated Kenney's Marina. He and Jere enjoyed entertaining on the deck of their Algonac Home in the summer months and wintering in Port Charlotte, FL. with their "Winter Family"?. Mr. Kenney is survived by children Kimberly Kenney, Jeb (Denise) Kenney, Jan (John) Kenney-Space, and Melanie (John) Lindsay, grandsons Jeb Kenney Jr., Griffin Kenney, Josh Lindsay, and Dylan Lindsay, sister-in-law Jane Rushford, an many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death brothers George Kenney and Lee Kenney, nephew Tom Kenney, and a brother-in-law William Rushford.
In keeping with Jay's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.
