Jennie Mary Pazdernik-Lawhon's Obituary
Jennie Mary Pazdernik-Lawhon age 98 of Harsens Island, MI. passed away April 9, 2021 in the Blue Water Hospice Home, Marysville, MI. She was born May 7, 1922 in Detroit, MI. to the late Paul and Katie (nee Trenasty) Svinka. She married Harold T. Pazdernik in 1942, he passed away in 1974. She married John W. Lawhon in 1989, he passed away in 2012.
Jennie will be remembered for her lifelong membership in Sokol. She was the oldest member in the Detroit chapter and enjoyed partaking in Czech music, dancing, and cuisine. During WWII she worked for various companies making war equipment on the west coast. Jennie loved living on Harsens Island and spending time with family and friends.
Jennie is survived by her children Robert (Rose) Pazdernik of Ira Twp., MI. and Jacquelene (Richard) Barczak of Liberty, MI., grandchildren Christopher (LaToya) Takemoto and Kari Pazdernik, and a nephew Dennis (Debra) Teichman. She was preceded in death by her eldest son Thomas Pazdernik, and a sister Lillian Teichman.
A "Celebration of Life" memorial will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday August 14, 2021 at the Sokol Detroit Cultural Center, 23600 W. Warren St. Dearborn Heights, MI. 48127. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sokol Detroit or to the Blue Water Hospice Home. Arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac, MI.
