The first memories i have of Larry Havens was at small catholic church on Harsens Island .It was Larry's and Patty's wedding day. I was five year's old and very concerned about who was marrying into the clan. I asked my father who said very little ever, who is this guy. I think he said if Aunt Margaret approved of him then he must be ok. Two years later we moved to Traverse City, never returning to Pearl Beach Algonac area until i was in my late fourty's. By that time Larry Havens was a living legend and I was very proud to be related.I did not get to know Larry until the Man Meeting's in Hessel. One thing i know is anyone who works in the construction industry for fiftey years deserves a standing ovation. And as a United States Army Veteran. every time I see the American Flag flying I will tip my hat to Larry Havens See you on the other side Larry.
