Margaret Alice Mackie's Obituary
Margaret A. Mackie age 98, of Algonac, MI. died June 2, 2017 in the St. Johns River District Hospital. She was born March 19, 1919 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. She married James W. Mackie on May 16, l942, he died April 19, 1986.
Margaret moved to Algonac, with her family, in 1924. She graduated from Algonac High School in 1937 and was Valedictorian of her class. She worked for the Michigan Bell Telephone Co. as an operator until they converted to dial phones. She
was later employed by the Algonac Public Schools as a secretary for many years.
Mrs. Mackie is survived by her sons David (Diana) Mackie, John (Susan) Mackie, and Alan (Linda) Mackie, grandchildren James (Karrie) Mackie, Lynn (Matt) Crowe, Jodie (Tony) Cosbey, Jessica (Chris) Immel, and Jonathan Mackie, great grandchildren Madison Mackie, Olivia Mackie, Emma Mackie, Kayla Cosbey, Caleb Cosbey, and Katherine Immel. She was preceded in death by a sister Genevieve Hacker, brothers Robert Cuthbertson, Thomas Cuthbertson, George Cuthbertson, Andrew Cuthbertson, her twin Arthur Cuthbertson, and Jack Cuthbertson
Private memorial services have been held. Arrangements by the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. Memorial donations may be made to the Algonac-Clay Twp. Historical Society Box 228 Algonac, MI 48001
