Mary Lou Birgbauer's Obituary
Mary Lou Birgbauer age 89 of Algonac, MI. died September 13, 2019 in Bethal, CT. She was born April 7, 1930 in Detroit, MI. to the late Fred and Minnie Martienssen. She married Gordon J.F. Birgbauer Jr. on January 12, 1957 in Indiana.
Mary Lou and Gordon lovingly owned and operated the LumberJack Building and Hardware Stores for over 50 years. She was a long time member of the Algonac Athena Club and the Algonac Library. She loved traveling and gardening.
Mary Lou is survived by her children Heidi (Andrew Daniels) Peters, Bette Ann (Dayton) Small, and Gordon (Jennifer) Birgbauer III, grandchildren Gary Peters, Nicholas Birgbauer, Katherine (Casey) Siereveld, Nicole Small, and Maddison Birgbauer, and a great grandson Coleman Birgbauer.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday September 28, 2019, in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac. Visitation 1-4 & 6-8 PM Friday and 10:00 AM until time of service Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
