Michael James Smith's Obituary
Michael James Smith, age 61, of Algonac, MI passed away May 31, 2025 in his home. He was born August 28, 1963 in Port Huron, MI.
Michael grew up in Algonac along the peaceful banks of the St. Clair River-a place that deeply shaped his love of the outdoors, especially fishing and golf.
Michael is survived by his loving mother Ada, devoted sister Micky, and his beloved son Andrew “Drew” with who he shared many meaningful moments, especially watching their favorite local group, the Meldrum Brothers Band, or enjoying a game of pool together. Michael will also be dearly missed by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of extended cousins and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim and his brother Billy, both of whom he held close in his heart throughout his life.
Michael will be remembered for his easygoing spirit, deep love for his family, and the simple joys he found in good music, good company, and time by the water. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
