It breaks my heart to hear this news. Nick Licari was my friend. I have known Dave, Tom, and Ken for a long time but years before I met them, I sat in his chair. Beside my own mother, he was the first one to cut my hair. Quite a memorable experience for a small child as you can imagine. I remember that he was kind, patient and fun. In fact, he was probably the first adult that I could carry on a conversation with growing up. It was usually about baseball. Long before meeting Tom- my classmate, teammate, and friend- his dad was bragging about his son who was about my age. Over the years I would see Nick at countless events and he always met me with a broad smile and two hands on the shoulders. We may get to know our friends parents a little as we grow up, then we move on after school. But I always seemed to run into Nick through the years and there has always been a connection. Not too long ago I ran into him walking on the bike path and then again while we were both doing some rehab work in town. Nothing seemed to change. He was the same rock solid example of a man I have come to appreciate and respect. In a world full of craziness and upheaval we will sorely miss this man and his character. He was an example of what a good father, husband, and friend should be. We will miss him but always carry the mark of his influence on our lives.
Diane and Family, Prayers for yourself and Family. Many memories of Nick ,he was so loved by so many We will remember , The HAPPY TIMES,the joyful smiles , hearty laughter, and caring words. Your Loved one Nick was a joy to know, and a shining example of Christ's Love. Love, God Bless. Connie K.
Nick was always one of my favorites. I remember him when I was a little girl and enjoyed his company whenever I was around him growing up and as an adult. Going to Algonac was like a vacation to me, because we always spent the night and made many memories, from the times above the barbershop to the house on Field street. I loved that he was a very Godly man. He served his family and community well He was a great husband, father, son, brother, cousin etc... My heart is heavy for all left behind, but I know he is looking down on us and wants us to be at peace, like he is. It's times like this that I wish I didn't live so far away and could be around my family. I would give Diane a hug and be there to lend a hand to the kids. I would cry with ya'll and laugh at the memories. God bless the Licari family and know that I am with you in spirit. All my love. Karen
Heartfelt condolences from the Young family.
