Patricia Mae Sass
age 88 of Clay Twp., MI. died August 17, 2014 in the Rachel's Corner AFC. She was born June 24, 1926 in Detroit, MI. to the late Virgil and Mabel O'Hair. She married Frank A. Sass September 3, 1955, he died February 3, 2009.
Patricia graduated from East Detroit High School in 1944, where she played 1st trumpet in the band. She worked the soda fountain at the Hick's Drug store in Algonac during the 1960's. She then became assistant to the chief Clay Twp. Librarian in the 1970's and 1980's. She was a member of the Algonac-Clay Twp. Historical Society, and loved reading novels, doing puzzles and particularly loved being with her family-especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Sass is survived by her children Frank (Lori) Sass of Algonac, and Lori (John) Henderlong of Chesterfield, VA., grandsons Frank Ian and Ryan Matthew of Algonac, a brother Michael (Susan) O'Hair of Crossville, TN, a cousin John (Barbara) O'Hair of Detroit, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Virginia and a brother Virgil "Gene".
A memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday September 13, 2014 in the Gilbert Funeral Home, Algonac.
