Patrick H. Smith's Obituary
Patrick H. ("Packy") Smith passed away at the age of 88 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital on February 26, 2018. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Ann. He was the son of the late Captain William H. and Lenore Smith. Loving father of Gail (Jim) Zawada, Patricia Smith, Mary Ellen (Steve) Schueler, and Patrick J. and (the late Peggy) Smith. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kimberly (Stephen) Bissoon, Christopher and Alexis Smith , Shannon and Sean Schrieo, great grandchildren Kiana, Reuel and Katya Bissoon. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Ann Smith and Ellen (Robert) Bindek. Packy was an avid hunter and fisherman, and spent his entire life on Harsens Island. Back in the day he was a member of the Lions Club of Harsens Island, and a member of the Harsens Island Volunteer Fire Department. He worked for 55 years as a Deckhand and then Captain at Champion\'s Auto Ferry. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. "If you hear that I am dead, don\'t believe it. I am more alive than ever. I am with the Lord."
