Pearl "Gay" Stager's Obituary
Pearl "Gay" Stager, age 86, of Algonac, went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2025. She was born March 28, 1938 in Detroit to the late George and Marie Chaney.
She married Edward Stager and he preceded her in death in 2013.
Gay worked as a cook at Algonac Elementary for 28 years. She was an avid reader and loved to knit blankets, sweaters and mittens for her grandchildren. She was very generous with her knitting and donated many items to those in need.
She was lovingly known as "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved daughter; Debbie Stager, son; Mark Stager, brother; Lee Chaney, along with 2 grandsons and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son; Michael Eugene Stager, grandson; Josh Stager and sister in-law; Fern Chaney.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 24 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a memorial service conducted at 4:00 p.m. at the Algonac Lions Club.
