Peter James Meldrum, 77 of Algonac, Michigan passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 17th, 2023 surrounded by several members of his family. Known as Peter, Grandpa, Papa, “GP” and Big Pete, he was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Read Obituary
Pete and Darlene were dear friends of my husband Greg and Ifor many years. Greg and Pete were best buds all through school in Algonac. Sadly, we lost touch with them shortly after we moved to the Upper Peninsula in the mid-70's. I almost seems like Karma, as Greg passed away on the 17th of June, 2023, quietly in his sleep. Darlene, we spoke of you often and tried on several occasions when we landed in Algonac to find you. The lack of good old fashioned phone books blocked our way. Greg loved Pete like a brother, I feel your loss as badly as I felt my own. It's still fresh in my heart. I pray for you to find peace with your children's support. as I did with mine. Love you both.

Mary and I grew up together in Algonac and spent lots of time doing family things. Pete was always patient with us--not always easy with giggling teenage girls.
