Raymond Richard Walsh's Obituary
Raymond R. Walsh, age, 65, of New Baltimore, passed away unexpectedly December 30, 2024. He was born on August 20, 1959 in Detroit to the late Allen and Mary Jane Walsh. Despite being born deaf Ray never took anything for granted. He had an amazing gift of communicating his love and affection to his family and friends through signs.
While attending the Michigan School for the Deaf where he graduated from, he was on the wrestling team. After a car accident in his junior year Ray lost his leg. Through his strong perseverance and determination not to quit, he returned to the high school wrestling team despite only having one leg. This he was very proud of.
Ray loved playing euchre, ice fishing and was an avid Detroit Lions fan. He found fellowship in Christ these past several years while attending Starville Church.
He is survived by his siblings, Allan Douglas Walsh, David Walsh, Danny Walsh, Charlotte Walsh; Uncle Gerald D. Huff Jr.; niece, Shannon Marie Walsh and her children Anthony, Mariana, Aiden Walsh; nephew, David Daniel (Maria) Walsh and his daughter Anna Sophia Walsh; along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ray is preceded in death by his siblings, Debbie Walsh, Dennis Walsh, Willy Walsh; niece Heather Walsh; grandparents, Gerald and Margaret Huff Sr.
