Richard "Rick" Cyril DeLaere's Obituary
Rick DeLaere, age 74, of Clay Twp. Passed away on May 24, 2025. He was born June 3, 1950 in Detroit. Rick married the love of his life Bonnie Fyfe on October 23, 1971. Rick worked for Ford Motor Company where he was given many perfect attendance awards throughout his career and retired after 35 years with the company.
Rick enjoyed his coffee and sweets, along with a good book. He was a faithful Detroit Lions fan. He was a self-taught handyman, he learned by doing, especially when repairing his home. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bonnie; children, Rick (Angela) DeLaere, Keri Gill, Lisa (John) Sikorski; grandchildren, Kayla Gill, Amanda Gill, John Sikorski, Lila Sikorski; great grandson, Greyson Mead; sisters, Debbie Lordy, Michelle Clift; sister-in-law Liz DeLaere.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Rene DeLaere, Marie DeLaere and Theresa DeLaere; brother, Kevin DeLaere; sister, Vickie Schoedler and step brother, Rene DeLaere.
