Robert and IRene Ford's Obituary
Robert Ford (July 8, 1937-May 1, 2021) and Irene Ford (September 2,1934- December 18, 2024) shared over 60 years of life together, rooted in dedication to education, community and family. Robert passed away in 2021, and Irene followed in 2024.
Robert was an English teacher and later served as principal of Algonac High School, Irene began her career as an accountant before transitioning to teach business education. Their impact continues in the lives of the students and colleagues they mentored over the years.
They are survived by their daughter and son-in-law.
A memorial service to celebrate their lives will be held at 2:00pm on May 17 at Young-Gilbert Funeral Home in Algonac with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. As a tribute to their lifelong care for animals, the family asks that any memorial contributions be directed to the Humane Society of St. Clair County instead of sending flowers.
