Scott Edward Hanel's Obituary
Scott Edward Hanel age 57 of Algonac, MI passed away July 9, 2023, unexpectedly in his home. He was born January 16, 1966 in Port Huron, MI to Elizabeth (nee Patrick) and the late Keith Hanel.
Scott was a 1985 Armada High School graduate after high school he served with the US Marine Corps for 6 years. Scott owned and operated Anchor Bay Canvas and Upholstery. He loved boating and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Hanel is survived by his life partner William Moree, his children Ashlie (Josh Tataren) Hanel and Aaron Foreman, his mother Elizabeth Hanel, grandchildren Jameson, Alaina, and Adrianna, goddaughter Alyssa (Steve) Deboer, siblings Deland (Sara) Bacheller, Dan (Brenda) Bacheller, Alan (Lisa) Hanel, Kathy (Scott) Cutcher, Cheryl (Phil) Holm, and Lori (Russ) Mathis, ex-wife and dear friend Jennifer (Casey) Pittman, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Trever Hanel.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM Saturday August 26, 2023 at the Port Huron Yacht Club, 212 Quay St. Port Huron, MI 48060, with US Marine Corp Military Honors being rendered at 3:00 PM. Arrangements by the Young-Gilbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Algonac, MI.
