Thomas Robert McCausland's Obituary
Thomas Robert McCausland, 68, of Algonac, Michigan, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023.
Tom was born on July 28, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William John and Margaret Jean (nee
Beck) McCausland. He married Laura Ann Jenuwine on April 12, 1980. He moved to Algonac in 2014.
Mr. McCausland is survived by wife Laura, sons Evan (Victoria) of Howell, Michigan, and Mark (Megan) of
Olmsted Falls, Ohio; two grandchildren, Eleanor and Nolan; sister Nancy (Charles) Green, and brother
William (Karen) McCausland. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Sieracki.
Tom graduated from the General Motors Institute in 1979, before leading a thirty-year-long career as an
electrical engineer at General Motors. Tom’s skills and interests extended far beyond the workplace, with
many remembering his love for boating and classic cars, his passion and talent for music, and his skill and
attention to detail in all manner of projects.
Tom lived a wonderful life, leaving an indelible mark on those around him. Above all else, he will be
remembered for being a genuine and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Young-Gilbert Funeral
Home, 1422 Michigan St., Algonac, Michigan 48001. Visitation will be Sunday, October 15, 2023 from
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Monday, October 16, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00
AM at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Tom's life.
Flowers are appreciated, but the family requests that you consider donations in Tom’s memory be made
to Friends of the St. Clair River, and/or the Pontiac Transportation Museum.
