William Frederick Erdmann's Obituary
William Frederick Erdmann age 91 of Algonac, MI passed away June 4, 2023 in in his home. He was born January 25, 1932 in Cottrellville Twp., MI to the late George and Gertrude (Bohaun) Erdmann. He was married to Leila M. Littlefield from 1958 to 1987. He married Lorretta Hemenger August 15, 1991 she passed away January 28, 2022.
Bill was a 1950 graduate of Marine City High School. He served with the U S Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the U S Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 30 years. Bill was employed by General Motors Corporation from 1958 to 1987 and after retiring from General Motors went on to become a realtor, selling real estate from 1988 to 2020. He was a member of the Algonac School Board from 1967 to 1971, and served on the Algonac Board of Review for many years.
Bill is survived by his children Patricia Hall, Pam (Steve) Bradshaw, Steve Weaver, Sue Wrobel, Patrick Hemenger, and Richard Hemenger, brother Donald (Kathy) Erdmann, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his children Amy Weaver, Bill Erdmann, Guy Hemenger, and Sandra Walters, siblings Jean, Joan, and George.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday June 10, 2023 in the Young-Gilbert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Algonac, MI. Visitation 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday and 10:00 AM until time of services Saturday. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Clay Twp., MI. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests, that donor’s do a Pay-Forward as an act of kindness in Bill’s name.
