William Ernest "Bill" Vaughn's Obituary
William Ernest "Bill" Vaughn, of Algonac, Michigan, passed away on June 27, 2026, surrounded by his family at the age of 74.
Born on January 4, 1952, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, Bill was the son of William and Donna Vaughn. He was raised in St. Clair Shores.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1970 to 1973. Following his military service, he built a successful career as an industrial repairman, welder, fitter, and fabricator. A lifelong learner, he graduated from Hazel Park Adult Education in 1979, continued his education at Macomb Community College in vocational and technical studies, earned a bachelor's degree from Destiny School of Ministry, and graduated from Birmingham Bible Institute.
While Bill was dedicated to his profession, his greatest calling was serving the Lord. He faithfully pastored Riley Center Church for seven years and spent fifteen years teaching at Destiny School of Ministry, where he encouraged and inspired many through his knowledge of Scripture, compassionate heart, and unwavering faith. He believed deeply in sharing God's love through community outreach and lived a life devoted to helping others.
Bill found great joy in riding motorcycles, spending time on the water fishing, and sharing his knowledge as a firearms safety and shooting enthusiast. Whether working with his hands, enjoying the outdoors, or serving others, he approached life with dedication, generosity, and a servant's heart. Bills greatest joy was spending time with his family.
On October 11, 1975, Bill married the love of his life, Virginia L. "Ginny" Vaughn. Together they shared more than fifty years of marriage, building a home filled with love, faith, laughter, and cherished memories
Bill is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Virginia "Ginny" Lou Vaughn; his children, Ryan (Coco), William, Lincoln, Martin (Cindy), and Gennifer; his beloved grandchildren, Ryco, Anthony ("Tony"), Joseph, Cora, Grace, and Lincoln II ("Charlie"); his sisters, Linda Jordan and Donna Freeman; along with many nieces & nephews, extended family members, dear friends, former church members, and countless lives touched through his ministry.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Alvin Vaughn, formerly of the St. Clair Shores Police Department; his mother, Donna Mae Mohler, a registered nurse; and his brother, Martin Vaughn.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bill's life on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Evangel Christian Church, Roseville, Michigan. The service will be officiated by Pastors Dr. Michael Hines and Genna Hines, along with Dr. Sherrill Piscopo.
