Austin Gerald LeLacheur's Obituary
Austin Gerald LeLacheur, affectionately known to his family and friends as Jerry “Chee” LeLacheur, age 88 of Algonac, MI passed away December 9, 2025 in his home. He was born December 5, 1937 in Royal Oak, MI to the late Austin J. and Sarah M. (Blackwell) LeLacheur. He married Linda L. Gallmeyer June 28, 2014 in Taylor, MI.
Jerry was a U S Army Veteran. He retired from Ford Motor Co. in 2001. He was president of the Wolverine Flight Club, Cottrellville Twp., MI. He sang with the Ford Motor Co. Choir and the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Choir, Ira Twp., MI. He enjoyed playing is trumpet with many local area bands.
Mr. LeLacheur is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Colette (Kevin) Witherspoon and Stacey (Daniel) Brown, a sister Louise (Robert) Wallace, 5 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Gwendolyn LeLacheur, son Scott McEvoy, and siblings Robert LeLacheur, Barbara Clunis, and David LeLacheur.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM with visitation at 10:00 AM Saturday December 20, 2025 in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 6745 Palms Road Ira Twp., MI 48023. Military honors will be rendered just prior to service at 11:00 AM.
