Douglas Vancleave
It was a lifetime ago. I knew her as Debbie Wheeler. She lived in a cool little house on the back of the lot on Roanoke Street in Oak Park, the next street over from my house. I can't remember if we met in grade school or just as neighbors but we would hang out and play records on her mom's hi-fi.One of our favorite records was a semi-religious song about birth, life and death, The Three Bells (Little Jimmy Brown). "Just a lonely bell was ringing, 'twas farewell that it was singing, to out little Jimmy Brown".
Goodbye for now Debbie Wheeler, I never forgot you.
