I am late to this tribute wall. Mary Ann and “Pitty Pin” were my Mom’s beloved cousins. My mother, “Bobbie” MaryEllen Murray Maline always spoke of her Harsen Island cousins with love. My mother spent her whole life living in NYC but spoke and wrote letters with Mary Ann and Pitty Pen often. Mary Ann always typed her letters! Back in the day that was unusual but not anymore. I wonder what the 3 of them would have thought about AI ?
My grandmother, Ada Sullivan Murray and Lenore Sullivan Smith were sisters. I was able to take my mother for a final road trip to visit the cousins when all 3 were in their 80’s. How the 3 of them laughed together reminiscing about all the fun times they had in their younger years. And Cousin Pitty Pin made the best blueberry pie I ever tasted! I hope the Murray girls and the Smith girls are laughing together in heaven , maybe enjoying some blueberry pie!
